"The more I work with teens, the more I find that too many are disorganized, not competent in note taking, uncertain of how to study for a test, and even incapable of keeping track of their homework assignments. Without these study habits it is no wonder that so many students struggle with test anxiety, and it is even less of a mystery why they lack confidence in themselves as they head for college."

Dave has observed that although private and public schools work hard to meet state standards and prepare students for college, many teens leave high school unaware of their own learning styles, unable to draw simple conclusions or verbalize the main idea of a passage, and inadequate in their writing composition abilities.

"Students need much more than to receive a passing grade in history and math. And they definitely need more than a good ACT score to succeed in college. They need to learn how to be students...they need to learn how to learn."
